National Monument

The National Monument is a large bronze statue of soldiers holding the Malaysian flag, each representing leadership, suffering, unity, vigilance, strength, courage and sacrifice. The National Monument, also known as Tugu Negara, is a tribute to those who died in Malaysia's struggle for freedom - firstly against the Japanese occupation during World War II, and secondly during the 12 year Malayan Emergency that followed the war.
